About Quilts and Art
Quilts and Art was started in 2003 by Mrs. Gerda Dekker with the aim of training and creating meaningful jobs for the disabled community including Polio and Deaf victims.
Part of our team is severely disabled or isolated and cannot leave their families and so they cannot come to the workshop every day. These quilters work from their village in groups where they learn to work as a team as they labor sometimes for months to complete just one Blanket.
